Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 during an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics coach who would become Comaneci's coach later in life found her around the age of six. She first competed at the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969, she was 13th. In 1970, she won. Three gold medals were awarded in her very first contest, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972 that was held by communist countries. In 1973 and 1974, she was the junior all-round champion. In her very first competition in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals aswell with one silver. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman to perform a backward double salto as an unmounting from uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she started appearing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol entered the entertainment industry in her teens. She began her career with her joining Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. The shows featured skaters who were accompanied by theatrical music.
