Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her early Broadway productions included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors, actors, and other performers on stage and screen for her entire career. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be in March 2023 when he stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal that was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford was the main character in two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits his time in Los Angeles.
